Right Wing Snowflakes Suddenly Hate States Rights Thanks to New Jersey's Cool Governor

The Trump administration is throwing a hissy fit and suing New Jersey over Democratic Governor Mikie Sherrill's executive order that will restrict ICE officers from “entering, accessing, or using nonpublic areas” of state-owned property. It may also bar them from future federal employment within the state. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I thought MAGA LOVED ruling by executive order! I thought the Right loved it when people FAFO. Or maybe it’s only when innocents get gunned down by Trump’s jack-booted thugs.

The lawsuit complains that, “Such blatant disregard for federal laws that have been on the books for over three decades is not merely a political statement, but is instead deliberate action that jeopardizes the public safety of all Americans. This law poses an intolerable obstacle to federal immigration enforcement and directly regulates and discriminates against the Federal Government, in contravention of the Supremacy Clause.” What a bunch of entitled babies! How dare the governor of a state do the things that their constituents ELECTED THEM to do?! What is this, some kind of DEMOCRACY??? When will the madness end???

The whiny 21-page manifesto lawsuit insists that Sherrill’s executive order violates the Constitution’s Supremacy Clause.

“Governor Mikie Sherill aims to intentionally obstruct federal law enforcement and celebrates thwarting the constitutional obligation of the President of the United States to take care that federal immigration law be faithfully executed,” the lawyers wrote in the lawsuit, misspelling Sherrill’s name all throughout the lawsuit.

Sherrill’s executive order also called for an explicit ban of ICE and other federal law enforcement agents from using public property belonging to the state as “a staging area, processing location, or operations base for the purpose of facilitating federal enforcement of civil immigration law.”

Sherrill acknowledged the llawsuit, giving a atatement saying, “I think what the federal government needs to be focused on right now instead of attacking states like New Jersey working to keep people safe is actually training their ICE agents with some modicum of training, like any law enforcement officer in the state of New Jersey would have, so they can operate better and more safely.” This is an extremely apt statement considering the terrorism ICE has been committing against Americans across America. It also rings especially true after a DHS whistleblower revealed that new ICE troopers are being taught that they are above the word of law.

Sherrill has been an inspirational and powerful force against the Trump administration, and her latest crusade against the out-of-control immigration department is simply her latest fight. She has even created an online reporting site where citizens can monitor and report the misconduct of ICE agents, where video and photo evidence of ICE abuse can be catalogued.

Hopefully, we will be able to throw this lawsuit in the pile of other Trump administration lawsuits that have been lost by the world’s dumbest administration.
